When dealing with a clothing accent like ruffles, you must be sure to get it right. Although they are one of the most time-tested and best-loved fashion trends, quite often they can be hit or miss. Sometimes a lovely top can be turned into a monstrous creation by a poorly placed ruffle, or one that is simply too big or too small for the ensemble. One of the most important things to consider in fashion and style is proportion. It can make or break your outfit. A lot of it comes down to how you are proportioned, your style of dressing is (are you dramatic? sporty? traditional?), and which pieces belong together.
When choosing a ruffled blouse, you've got a lot of different style options to consider. Do you like lots of details or are you a minimalist? Size and quantity can say a lot about your personality. In my mind, a bunch of tiny ruffles are ultra feminine and the word "demure" comes to mind. Large, drooping ruffles make me think of a more romantic, sophisticated persona. Do you agree?
Here's some of my favorite selections from Charlotte Russe (a store with some nice pieces and great prices):
What are your favorite ruffled pieces? (Do you even like ruffles at all?) Do you think any of the pieces I've featured are a complete miss? (I can be wrong, you know. ;) If you haven't figured it out yet, I LOVE to hear from my readers! Please feel free to share your fashion-y opinions - I know you've got them!
