First of all, let me just clarify that this is not what I am wearing for Easter Sunday. Yes, if I had to photograph my outfits a day in advance, I should have been brilliant and shot my Easter ensemble on Saturday... but I wasn't yet sure what I would be wearing. Also, I loved this new outfit too much to let it miss out on all the fun. :)
I have been hoping to do a re-fashion piece all week long. I had a dozen good intentions going into this week. But when I was flooded out of house and sewing room... they remained intentions. :P Today however, I cleared myself a space and sat down with a jean mini skirt that was passed on to me (like I would ever wear the thing! ;)... and added some ruffles and trim. (I would like to get a tutorial up here, but we'll have to see!)
I have been wanting a cute little summer skirt and was so excited that this one turned out how I was planning! The jean part is perfect - denim never looks dirty or wrinkled (it's so amazing! ;) and the ruffles add some fun and feminine flare. I am especially proud of the latter, since they were cut from an old faded fabric (also given to me)... and I used the fabric discoloration to make an interesting graduation of color. It was fun! :)
My top, necklace and shoes (probably the only used ones I own) in this ensemble are also all secondhand - so this was one cheap outfit. A grand total of $2 (for the shoes :). The earrings are making their second appearance this week... and are my faves from London.
What I'm Wearing:
- Re-fashioned Skirt originally by Mossimo Supply Co.
- Knit Shirt by GAP (secondhand)
- Shoes by Mootsies Tootsies Collection (thrifted)
- Jewelry - necklace (secondhand) - earrings from Greenwich Market, England
Remember - this is the last day of Secondhand Fashion Week! Be sure to post all of your looks by midnight tonight so that they can be entered in the Favorite Secondhand Fashionista contest! I will be selecting some finalists and posting them within a few days for you to vote for your favorite! (Don't forget that the giveaways are still open! Be sure to enter!)
Thank you all once again for contributing to a wonderful event. You have totally made my week. God bless you (and have a lovely Easter Sunday! :).
