If you've been following the blog for a while, you may remember a post last October about the delightful fall/winter clothing collection by Saltwater. I am pleased to announce that they have done it once again, providing beautiful and timeless designs that are whimsical and ultra feminine. I love how many of their pieces are very modest, or could be easily made so by layering. Their prices are definitely a bit high, but I think these photos will offer you lots of inspiration when shopping for your own summer wardrobe.
Just check out this description...
Our new summer collection is inspired by the rustic beauty of the French countryside.... Fields of cornflowers and sunflowers, sprigs of lavender and olive blossom.
Lovely, isn't it?
Simple, lightweight and feminine tops are perfect for the arriving warm weather. The simplicity of the first design is enhanced by a subtle fabric pattern. Rows of contrasting decorative embroidery at the hem add interest and a finishing touch.
The second look is made up of shockingly simple pieces, but kept lively by the quirky red leaf print of the blouse, and nicely paired with a relaxed jacket. Both of these looks work fabulously with jeans, whatever the style, creating a practical and ladylike ensemble.
A fabulous dress is an easy "feel good" piece for any occasion. The soft knit of the first look is perfect for when you want something comfortable and casual. The second dress is sweet, summery and appropriate for any daytime event. Ideal for lunch with a friend, a morning wedding, or just for feeling pretty on an afternoon around the house...
I just love tunic tops with jeans. Really, they don't work many other ways, since they tend to look too long and heavy over a skirt. But with that perfect pair of pants they are super-flattering and also very modest if you want more coverage. I also think that they are one of the few styles that "work" with skinny jeans, which are only kept flattering (IMHO) by high heels and a long-ish top.
The style of the first one is just fabulous, with a dropped drawstring waist, a delicate print and pretty appliques. Add this one to my wardrobe, please! The second top looks like it would be perfect for slightly breezier weather, and could be layered over a fitted, long-sleeved tee for more warmth.
Wearing a unique and adorable skirt is one of my favorite ways to dress up and feel girly, and it works wonderfully when paired with a simple top and a cute sweater. Check out how the same top and sweater (love the tiny polka dots - so understated and chic) is given two different looks just by switching the skirt. The second one is in that fun red leaf-print and the first is an amazing Indian-inspired design with sparkling embroidery at the hem. Lovely...
Which of these looks would you choose if your fairy godmother was offering to pay for and deliver an outfit to your doorstep? I think I'd go with the first one. Those shoes are just amazing. :)
