I love the brisk breezes that fill the days; the change of color in the trees and the whispered promise of snow covered hills, ice skating, hot chocolate and Christmas carols. And I think that Fall fashions reflect that excitement and anticipation...
I was delighted to find this lovely fall lookbook from tobi: 1-to-1 shopping featuring beautifully "cozy" designs from the velvet BY GRAHAM AND SPENCER line. Just the perfect combination of casual loveliness and "snuggly". :)
This 1st Look features a gorgeous faux leather coat. From the mandarin collar to the distressed edges and "just past the hip" length, it's ultra flattering. Simple, and yet lovely enough to wear pretty much anywhere, pieces like this are classic.
Oh yes, and skinny jeans are still immensely popular this season. I used to be very skeptical of this style, but I think it can look really cute and classy with a longer length top and either boots, high heels, or a really special pair of flats... (what do you think?)
Who says you can't wear white after Labor Day? Nowadays, there really aren't any hard and fast fashion rules. I say, if it "works", wear it, even if it may be a little non-traditional. (Granted, we don't want to majorly step on any toes, so make sure it's appropriate for the occasion!)
A soft, white sweater like this one is sweet and exudes a sense of girlish innocence (which I always find very appealing :). Not to mention that it can dress up a relaxed and casual top and make your whole outfit very pretty.
If you haven't noticed yet, anything "drape-y" is in right now, especially for fall. I know a lots of people can feel shy or intimidated about buying an oversized or loose sweater, but the possibilities are so endless.
When worn over a fitted outfit it creates the perfect balance, and it can always be wrapped around and belted if you feel a need for some waistline definition. Give one a try - I think you'll be delighted by how cozy, comfy and cute it can look. :)
Lastly, don't be afraid of a bulky coat! If the color, fabric and shape are right, I feel that the extra fabric is ok. Not everyone may agree with this (some dear friends have told me that a certain coat makes me look fat ;), but go by your instincts and don't let a little extra fullness keep you from grabbing that truly amazing jacket.
What are your favorite "cozy" pieces for fall? :)

As far as a London photo update goes, I apologize. I chickened out. I really did intend to do some posts, giving you the trip details, but the *stupid* new Blogger editor was giving me some issues and I decided to throw the towel in. But... I do have the complete albums online for you to browse - HERE. :)
