When all you want to do is fly away...

Today I don't want to keep my feet on the ground. The sun is out, the cherry tree outside my bedroom window is blossoming, and the tulips are a wash of glorious color in the garden. It's the sort of day that fairies are bound to be about (unless they have left the vicinity due to the awful noise and chaos that has become the road in front of our house) and to stay indoors would just be wrong. I think I'll spend some time writing, and hopefully digging around in the backyard and trying to make it look pretty.

Regardless, a day like today calls for some green, "Neverland" inspired fashion...

I think I'll save the elegant satin dress (check out the sweet buttons!), designer brooch and the amazing "mossy" heels for a summer evening. Instead, it would be great to spend the day in a yummy brown pleated skirt and a comfy green robe. Of course, some soft moccasin boots are just the thing for tramping around a yard that is still soft from the downpour of rain we received this year. If there's a chilly breeze, a lightweight scarf is a necessary part of the ensemble, and a bucket hat is perfect for sunshine protection.

A wonderful finishing addition would be one of my favorite soundtracks of all time coming through my iPod while I dig in the garden. Oh yes... ;)

Sorry for the lack of a substantial post today. I have to confess that I have felt very burned out and uninspired over the past months. I don't know if this is due to the busier than normal schedule I've had this year or the fact that being job-less and broke has kept me from shopping for months,which rather puts a damper on researching and writing about fashion. Kind of like putting together a cookbook while you're on a diet. ;)

So, if you could all pray that God would continue to send me fashion inspiration and the discipline to write, and also provide me with a way to make some income (for much more important reasons than shopping, which I could care less about at this point ;P). If anyone is interested in contributing to the blog, please drop me a line (I am extremely particular what goes up, so I can't guarantee acceptance, but I definitely appreciate any offers) and if you have any ideas for topics you'd like me to write about, leave a message through my formspring box (in the top right corner).
