It's a grey Sunday afternoon and the rain is pouring down outside my window. I'm in the perfect mood to escape to an imaginary world, relax with family, and curl up in my comfy chair with my laptop and reflect on some pretty things. This week has had its blessings, as well as challenges, and I've had the opportunity to 1) work on some projects that have been in my head (more on those coming soon!) 2) clean and organize 3) just enjoy life. I thought I'd share a few of the week's thoughts and inspirations with you, leaning heavily on my new favorite, Pinterest. :)
First of all, I participated in The Search for the New Lucky Lifestyle Contributor! Lucky magazine is holding a contest with various writing challenges and the winner will get the chance to write for the magazine, among other things. This would obviously be a dream of an opportunity and, if you feel like it, you can read my submission and vote for me HERE. Your support is very much appreciated. :)
Keeping on the topic of the first Lucky! challenge, which is dressing for work, I really dig ladylike office ensembles like these ones. A pencil skirt, pumps, belt and a cardigan (worn with your favorite blouse, or course) is just the perfect look. Almost makes me want to get a desk job. ;)
True words.
Pretty hair can totally brighten up your day, and lately I've been so loving braids. Versatile, simple and timeless.
I don't think I fully realized what amazing places there are to be seen around the world until I started browsing pictures on Pinterest. Seriously, some of these places look like a fantasy land.
Creative organization and decorating ideas get me so excited! Nothing seems to give me more pleasure than spaces that are utilized to the maximum, and simple touches that make a room into a place you love...
The amazing discovery of the week was Paperback Weddings. Their wedding videos are the most unbelievable, creative and interesting I've ever seen. Forget that boring ceremony vid - these are truly works of art. (P.S. My favorite, of the four I've watched so far, is Tyler and Julie. That's the kind of wedding I want. :)
Speaking of weddings, I am totally loving mismatched bridesmaid dresses, like these ones. :)
Words like these are food for the soul, and I've tacked this one above my bed as a reminder. When things don't go the way they should, a new tomorrow is a comforting and beautiful thought.
