I've been in love with tulle skirts since I was a six-year-old starting my first year of ballet. There's always been something extra special about them... all whispering, gliding, and swirling everywhere. I used to think that only a professional dancer or a princess could get away with such a uniform.
But times have changed, and tulle skirts have experienced many bursts of popularity in the past decade (I dedicated an entire post to them four years ago). And they can be incorporated into everyday wear with contemporary - even edgy - accessories or accents.
You don't have to be a princess to wear a tulle skirt. Or a professional dancer. (Just an "unprofessional" one. Everyone needs to dance, even - or especially - if they're bad at it. Dancing is good for the soul.)
I've had this tulle skirt, which I picked up at Saver's for a few dollars, stuffed into my closet for a couple of years. I wanted to break it out, but wasn't sure what to pair it with. Or where to wear it. I was afraid I'd be competing with bridesmaids if I wore it to a wedding, and that it was too much poof for church. But a few Sundays ago I decided I really, really wanted to wear it.
So I did.
