"Our collection borrows from the autumn hedgerows and winter landscape, with delicate rowenberry prints and leaf embroideries, tones of soft grasses, heather and winter mist. Wrapped together with the natural honesty of tweeds and lambswool with a little extra luxury in alpaca and velvet."How can you not fall for that? :)
Dresses are always touted as the "thing" for the season, whether it's winter, spring, summer or fall. There's certainly no denying that a beautiful, classic dress will take you anywhere and stay in style for years. Here are two adorable examples for fall and winter. Cap sleeves, interesting waistline details and a simple, fitted skirt make for a great look.
There's no better time to layer things up than now, when you're halfway through the fall season, and the weather is so unpredictable. I am just digging long-sleeved, scoop-neck tees and classic turtlenecks - perfect to be worn under any short-sleeved top or dress. This is a great way to bring your summer clothing into the winter seasons. Even sleeveless or strappy tops can still be worn if the colors work for the season and they've got the right layer underneath. Can I also say that I just love the look of stockings under boots? So cute - and cozy!
While mixing and matching more than one pattern in an outfit used to be considered taboo, nowadays there are no hard rules and I do believe it can be done right. It doesn't have to match, but it definitely has to "go." If you're afraid of making such a fashion-y decision by yourself, don't be. Your sister will tell you (honestly, of course) if it looks dreadful. ;)

Never underestimate the power of a couple of really great separates. Although dresses are cute and fun, you can get pretty much the same look with a couple of favorite pieces. A long skirt and elegant top can be as beautiful and appropriate for a formal event as an evening gown, so long as the fabric and shape are right. And you can attain the same adorable "office" look that you'd get with a sheath dress and pumps, just by putting the right blouse and skirt together. I think this outfit really works well - three cheers for little, skinny belts!!!
Another way to stretch your wardrobe between seasons is to wear a sweater or jacket as your top. This may seem obvious to some, but years ago sweaters and jackets were engraved in my mind as something you wore "over" your shirt or blouse. But it's super easy to throw a jacket or button-up sweater over a tank and go... looking cute and classy. The two examples shown here are just adorable - I think I want them. ;)
It think these Saltwater looks display some nice muted fall colors. Pink, brown, green, purple - anything goes! It's all about the shade when it comes to bringing colors up to date. Oh yes, and another clothing-related piece of wisdom - don't forget that a nice pair of boots is a great investment! Whether heeled or flat, they go with almost anything and keep your feet nice and toasty in snow or rain. For my part... I think this last look is deliciously cozy for a day around the house. Vests have definitely soared in popularity for the past few years and it's amazing how much warmer they can keep you. As always, a great pair of jeans "is a joy forever." And, of course, Converse sneakers are the shoe these days. Tell me, what do you think of them?
Random thought of the day... "This model really makes me want to get bangs."
This is one clothing company that I will definitely keep an eye on - I can't wait to see what they come up with for next spring! :) Be sure to check out the entire collection and see the other adorable fall and winter designs for yourself...
