Well, Christmas is ever drawing closer and, if you're anything like me, you are digging through last year's slew of winter ensembles and crying "Whatever SHALL I wear???" It seems like I have lots of pieces that I am tired of, look blah, and just want to toss. But with everyone trying to be financially responsible and saving what leftover cash we've got for Christmas gifts, chances are that, like me, you can't afford to go out and get yourself a new wardrobe.
So, here we have me, looking pretty blah and out of it. ;) This sweater shirt was one that I hated last year and nearly got rid of this fall while doing the "season switcheroo" of my clothes. The jeans are nice, but very basic, and there is nothing exciting about this ensemble. Honestly, this is my "too busy to be beautiful" look. lol. :P
So...we start with Basic Blah, add a few accessories, and get...
Look #1 - Fun and Funky

- A fabulous wrap made by my dear friends Lyndsi, which adds some great color and interest to the look. Super fun!
- Big gold hoop earrings that swing n' sway.
- A chunky aqua choker (made by me) which adds some more color to the shirt and helps bring out some of the blue tints in my eyes.
- Low-heeled boots (Metroline by KHOMBU) with silver buckle details.
Look #2 - Urban Chic

I am wearing:
- Brown leather belt with brass buckle from Kohls - defines the waistline.
- Croft and Barrow Felt Cloche Hat - because I love it!
- Three bracelets in gold, sterling silver and bronze - "Just hear those [bracelets] jing-a-ling, ring-ting-ting-a-ling, too..." ;)
- A shoulder bag (sewn by me) out of some gorgeous fabric.
- Brown heeled boots (What's What by AREOSOLES).
Look #3 - Evening Elegance

- A silk scarf (that was a gift from Melissa and Melanie) in my favorite salmon shade.
- A long strings of "pearls" wrapped a gazillion times around my wrist.
- A black vintage clutch beaded all over in bugle beads. I guess I should check the tag and see if it's worth something... ;)
- Metallic bronze/gold mary jane heels with cutouts by FRANCO SARTO.
- An artificial rose.
It's amazing how dressy jeans can look when they are accessorized just right. This would be a great way to update a work look (like #2) for an evening party.

It's fantastic how you can update an outfit or use an accessory if you just think out of the box and keep an eye open for potential. I hope these looks gave a you a few ideas (or at least a good chuckle! ;) - God bless your weekend!
